I will be making another experiment tomorrow and will try to install a new dedicated power line for audio. I say “another experiment” as the dedicated line that I installed as soon I move into the hour did not sound good, I have no idea why.

I was so glad to stumble on to this site. It's amazing!I've been a Bidat owner since 1995 and I had the latest mods done by John Wright a year ago. Romy, it takes several months for those blackgate caps to fully calm down, but you are in for a t...
What I have is a subwoofer made by ACI; no information on the amplifier used other than it uses a two prong power cord, no ground. When I hooked it up to the APS 2000 I got a very loud pitched hum. Taking if off the 2000 an...

As some may know from previous posts, I have been working on horns for the Vitavox S2 as well as other drivers (I am photo-documenting the process, as it is somewhat unusual, possibly to be posted here at a later date). Last night I was able to test ...

In the post below I made a few mistakes.
1) The new Placete gain stage use analog PS,
not switching and I mistakably said. The power cord come with computer style plastic
box in the middle and I though it is the power supply. In reality the plas...

I feel that shielding of dedicated power lines is kind of arguable
subject. First of it I do not know if it is necessary. What will you shield
from? The main point is what kind shielding
and how it affects sound. It might be shielding
that is i...

Eventually I got electricity-wise what I had in my old listening room. It turned out that the last straw that I was missing was Lavry ADC that was connected to ground of my remote switcher.
I am quite sure it is a ground issue, as it is noise coming from the loudspeakers regardless of source or volume. Lifting the grounds on the amplifiers… eliminates the problem.
If it so them there is no need to contact t...

Bracket these comments with my general thrill over finally being able to play music from my computer.(I did sell a pretty mint Evo VIII in part to get into this world.)At first the Lavry DA-11 sounded a little "Pro", electronic, mechanical to my ears...

It's quite a marvel from what I can tell now. The overall sound is somewhat on the darker side but the preamp is still breaking in (although I gave it 30h benchtop burn in with the frybaby track). I also suppose it reveals the Dannoy and the room int...

Yep, Stitch, your satire is fine even though I do not agree that every serious Audiophile needs a psychotherapist. This is a difference between serious audio individual and just a person who twinkling with audio. If person has specific objective and ...

Romy, thanks, as usual, you seem to have been right. The system is on and I just checked V2 voltage; its way off, above .4VDC, so I grabbed a hot pad from the kitchen and rocked the V2 tube. The socket made the familiar a dry creaking sound and see...
